A lot of people prefer to get a little spritz right before heading out the door and although they might not know it, this isnt the right way to go about it (or at the very least, not in that order). Perfume and other products that have alcohol content have the ability to break down the coating of your jewelry, leaving only the metal material in the open (what we all call corroding or rusting). Accessories are ideally supposed to be the last finishing touches, so you should always throw them on right before you walk out the door. Your perfume, on the other hand, should be put on as youre walking out the shower so as to be able to act on your body immediately. So going forward, you should remember not to spray any perfume on your neck or wrist after youve already put on your necklace, bracelet, or any other piece youur uuttiiggoo../p>> >
3. A to wide, 4 long piece of fiber (which is what I use) or a hard wood, such as maple, with a half moon cut out in the side is good to use to pound the piece into the circle that we want to achieve. With the rod positioned securely in a vice or cradled in a wooden jig, place the piece of silverware over the rod with the half-moon cutout directly over the rod on top of the piece and pound with a hammer. Work your way the length of the piece and it will begin taking shape. You can use a pair of adjustable pliers with leather over the jaws and taped in place to help bend the piece, never use metal tools directly against the silverware as it will scratch or mar the surface. Keep working the metal until you have a true circle and it is the size you want.
Stackable bangles: Wide or thin, silver or gold, the more bangles you can stack on your arms, the better. For interest, pair different sizes and different metals or materials (Lucite and wood cuffs are hot), with contrasting shapes and styles, like thin silver or gold. If you cant get away with wearing stackable bangles, (the jangles get on your co-workers nerves, for example) a single bold cuff is a sexy alternative. Patent leather and gemstone styles are popular right now. You can spend a lot or a little here: Cuffs and bangles go in and out of style, but have enough staying power to warrant collecting them for future trends.
